Corporate Social Responsibility

THINK.NEW.SUSTAINABILITY

There’s so much going on in a shopping mall – behind the scenes, too. One aim is to achieve sustainability, which may come as a surprise to many – but for us it’s a matter of course. We’d like to show you why.

Our CSR Strategy

Economic, Environmental, and Social

Sustainable activity has been part of the corporate DNA of SES Spar European Shopping Centers for many years. We have been engaged in sustainable real estate development since 1996: Not only do we implement prescribed environmental standards, but we also go above and beyond via our own voluntary measures. When it comes to sustainability, we think further ahead in terms of shopping centers and hypermarkets.

What does sustainability mean to us? It means securing economic success over the long term by considering ecological and social issues. We develop and operate our shopping centers in a manner that is appropriate to the respective location, and we focus on resource-saving construction as well as the use of innovative technology. We use renewable energy sources and operate our shopping centers in a highly efficient way. As a result, we are able to work in a cost-effective manner over the long term, construct forward-looking properties, and create meeting places that offer the highest quality of stay for the public.

Transparent Energy Policy

As a developer, constructor, and operator of retail properties, SES is committed to an even higher contribution to climate protection via sustainable property development. To that end, SES has adopted a clear energy policy. We implement tailor-made concepts, taking into account “green building” aspects, together with leading local, national, and international partners.

SES uses an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001:2018, which has been successfully certified by TÜV AUSTRIA. Our defined targets are to be implemented by 2050.
